Thanks a lot for writing this, Jeremy. I much appreciate some of the ideas, particularly: “Myers would like to see additional monuments installed in the city’s public spaces in an effort to add “balance.” Monuments to slaves. Monuments to indigenous people.”

When will we be removing the statue of Tristan de Luna? Don’t we care that the Spaniards conquered and killed numerous indigenous tribes and plundered Mexico for it’s gold. He offends me!! Lets all meet down on Palafox pier to tear it down. After all, if we’re eradicating historical monuments, then this is one of the worst. And if it’s about division, then the MLK monument needs to go since so many disagreed with his politics as well. And, while we’re at it, I think the train needs to go. Do you know how many Chinese immigrants were hurt and taken advantage of during the building of the railroads?? This train is a symbol of Chinese oppression. And, I think that McGuires needs to be torn down, for the continuation of the stereo type that all Irishmen are drunks. SO, who’s with me. Let’s get Mayor Dudley Dooright to come help get rid of these symbols of oppression. Plus, I am quite sure we can find other windmills to slay while we’re at it!!
